Since the plate so should meet your needs, we manufacture it only made from high quality birch multiplex (3 layers of a 4mm) in highest quality.
We try our shields as authentic as possible to manufacture.
That's why we use for gluing bone and rabbit-glue and stir us to the priming of painted shields chalk reason. The leather, Raw hides and skins come from a German gerber and are vegetable tanned. The shield is 100% show battle-ready, by gluing the individual layers of flexible as shields from Plank design (even the ancient Romans have their shields are already glued in layers ...).
Our shields are all hand-made and hand painted, each is unique.
